Sun Block While Working Out

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

If you are outside for any amount of time during the day to work out, which many people are, are you making sure that you are protected from harmful UV rays? If you aren’t constantly putting on sun block while working out, then although you are doing something good for your body, you may not be doing something good for your skin. For every two hours you are outside, you should be reapplying sun block so that your skin is not being damaged. Even if you tend to tan instead of burn, this can to terrible things to your skin.

Certain symptoms like freckling, early aging and loss of elasticity can occur with repeated sun exposure. This means that you will most likely be cleaning up the mess you made by not wearing sun block later in life. Have you ever seen women and men who look like they have leather skin because of how much sun exposure they’ve gone through? Not only will your skin look terrible, but you will also be putting yourself at a greater risk for skin cancer some day.

Many agencies are recommending that today, because of increased greenhouse effects, that everyone wear at least a 15 block no matter how easily you burn. Ultimately, that will be the only way to completely protect the well-being of your body and your skin.

Make sure you aren’t working out in the sun without sun block. If you are, you could be doing irreparable damage to your skin.
