When people get a cold, it is a natural reaction to do everything they can to ensure their body repairs itself and returns to a normal function. One thing that many people do to cure themselves is stop exercising. While this may seem that it is giving your body the ability to rest and recuperate, there really is no reason to scale back on an exercise program if you have a minor cold.

Research has shown that when a person has a small cold, their bodies are just as capable of working out as a perfectly healthy individual. A person with a cold still has the same lung and heart capabilities that they would have if they did not have the cold. Furthermore, studies have shown that stopping a workout program while having a cold will in no way speed up recovery time. Also, it has been shown that when people stop a workout routine because of a minor sickness, they have a much harder time getting back into their routine after they have recovered.

However, while fitness training with a cold, you should take extra precautions. For example, if you like to run, you should opt for running on a treadmill over running outside if the environment is not ideal. Being outside in a cold or rainy environment could delay your recovery time. Furthermore, when you have a cold it is very important to drink a lot of fluids. Drinking fluids is even more important if you are exercising because you will sweat frequently during a good workout.

It almost seems as if the healthful benefits of BCAA’s are endless. Not only does regular BCAA supplementation enhance an individual’s athletic performance levels, but statistics overwhelmingly show that regular supplementation with BCAA’s can ultimately result in a stronger overall immune system. Therefore, people taking BCAA’s can accurately expect to endure fewer yearly communicable illnesses, like the common cold. [...]
