More and more these days you see them advertised everywhere: Fitness Boot Camps. But what are they and what should be the essential attributes of a good boot camp?

A boot camp is a series of training sessions that almost always takes place outdoors. They are specifically designed to challenge every part of your body, giving you a workout that zaps fat, tones muscle, and builds flexibility. Most boot camp programs require participants to attend sessions two or three times a week, depending upon your personal goals.

Bar none, the most important attribute in any fitness boot camp is the instructor. Your instructor should motivate and challenge you, without ever being intimidating. In fact, most good camp instructors are actually nurturing and supportive. They want to see you succeed as much as you do – maybe even more. They’ll push you, but never beyond the limits of your ability and you will see results after working with them for a few weeks.

Variety is also key. Each boot camp session should be different from the one before: changing up the order of the exercises, increasing the repetitions, or introducing new exercises. This technique ensures you get the best possible workout.

A good boot camp also focuses on every aspect of fitness. You’ll do cardio, strength training, and stretching, but also get advice on good nutrition. If you’re in Orange County, why not sign up for a free 2 week trial? We’ll help you discover total body fitness at its finest.
