Personal Training
What are some of the benefits of working with a trainer?Thursday, February 16th, 2012
When it comes to weight loss and fitness, Its never easy to go it alone. Without the proper support structure, going to the gym to train can become a daunting task and in most cases never gets accomplished to the extent that you would like. That is where I come in. As a personal trainer, there is no better satisfaction then helping a client reach their fitness and weight goals. I love the ability I have to support my clients and make sure that they not only stay on target for their fitness and weight goals but help them to carry this drive to the other things in their lives. There are plenty of other reasons why a trainer is beneficial to work with, that is why I’ve highlighted some of these key points below!
- A trainer can create a specific exercise and nutrition routine designed to help you reach your goals as fast and efficiently as possible.
- Having a trainer helps keep you accountable for showing up to your workouts and maintaining healthy eating habits.
- A trainer has the ability to push you harder than you ever would push yourself, helping you realize you can achieve more than you think.
- A trainer will help you keep consistency in your fitness goals, so once you reach your goals, you stay there and never move backwards again.
- Assure you are doing the exercises properly and using the correct amount of weight to help prevent injury, under training or overtraining.
- Monitoring your fitness progress to ensure you are staying on track

Crunches on the floor – lying on your back on the floor, bring your knees up to your chest, put your hands behind your head and crunch your abdominals so that you are touching your elbows to your knees. This works your upper abdominals. Click Here to Watch How

5 Great Abdominal Exercises That Can Be Done At Home
- Planks – face down on the floor, resting on your elbows and the toes of your feet while keeping your body perfectly straight like a board and holding that position for either 30 seconds or 60 seconds. If you can’t hold it for 60 seconds, slowly work your way up to that. This works your entire core. Click Here to Watch How
- Half-Crunches – sitting upright on your butt on the floor, knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Sit up and hold your arms out in front of you while leaning back half way (between sitting upright and lying on the floor) and then sit up completely, trying to touch your chest to your knees. Go down half way and then up again 30 times. This will work your lower back and upper abdominals.
- Leg Extensions on the Floor – Sitting on the floor, lying back resting on your elbows. Bring your knees up to your chest and kick out one leg at a time, back and forth, left leg and right leg. This works the top of the thighs, the lower abdominals and the lower back.
- Seated Broomstick Twists – sitting on a chair with a broomstick resting on your shoulders behind your neck. Have both hands on the broomstick and twist your torso back and forth, left and right. Do this 30 times in each direction. This will work your obliques and waistline. Click Here to Watch How
My Favorite Places To Go For a Run in Newport Beach
Thursday, December 22nd, 2011
Running can be one of the most rewarding, yet most boring exercises there is. One way to keep myself from getting bored is by changing up the scenery. I enjoy changing the places I run, instead of running the same routes all the time. Not only does it keep me interested, it allows me to escape from some of the monotonous tasks of daily life, and allows me to get some fresh air while checking out some wildlife. Below I have shared some of my favorite route to run in the Newport Beach Area.
One of my favorite places to go for a run, is the Back Bay in Newport Beach. It has excellent scenery, a ton of wildlife and the ocean breeze makes the temperature cool enough to go for a long run without getting too hot.
My second favorite place to go running is on the Bonita Canyon trail in Newport Beach. Again, tons of scenery and an excellent workout with the hills. The trails are designed for running and it is very peaceful and quiet. This is one of my favorite places to run when I want to clear the cobwebs out of my head and get away from everything – Awesome place to run!
My third favorite place to go running is on the Crystal Cove trail over in the Newport Coast. There is no better view of the Pacific Ocean while running. I love running along this trail late in the day when the sun is setting. It’s the most peaceful run. Plus it is close to my home and is a great way to get in a workout without having to drive far away.

Cheers
